It has been an unbelievably hot week in Maryland, most certainly the hottest and humid days we've had since we moved out here. It was just NASTY! With just one AC unit in the bedroom, we were suffering. We tried to get another AC unit but all the local stores were sold out and there was even limited availability online! In the kitchen in was 92 degrees! Even the bedroom (since heat rises) it was 87 degrees with the AC turned ON! The AC unit just couln't keep up! We escaped the house on Saturday afternoon for a BBQ with the neighbors and made the most of their AC. It was just unbearable outside so we spent all weekend in the bedroom with the dogs making to most of what little AC we had. Luckily we had a distraction since I just got an iphone and Dianne & Mike treated us to a new ipad for our 10yr anniversary. Both items arrived in the mail just in time to keep us occupied through the brutal heat.
We also had our Open House at work this week. It was 4-8pm but it didn't cool off too much, although we tried to make it more bearable with lots of fans under the tent outside and people made the most of our AC inside by joining our tours every half hour. We had >140 visitors - it was a huge sucess. It was also a relief to get past it as we had been so busy and stressed with all the preparation. Its amazing how much was done last minute, especially the landscaping, laying of sod, hanging photos and art work, unpacking remaining boxes and I FINALLY unpacked my cubicle - here it is.
