April 16/17 - Visitors from CA

Our friends from CA, Jen & Charlie, came to visit for a couple of days before going on to a wedding in Washington DC. Thursday evening we drove down close to the airport to meet them for dinner at the Red, Hot and Blue BBQ in Annapolis. Friday we had the day off work. In the morning we went to see how the new equestrian complex for Hassler Dressage is coming along in Chesapeake City. Funded by multi-billionaire John Malone it will be one of the most prestigious riding facilities in the US. Mr. Malone will also be building for Select Breeders a new, state of the art laboratory, on the same property. Hopefully construction will start for us in August and be completed by the end of the year. The equestrian center should be completed by June. The construction is all Amish built. We had lunch at the British Pub, The Whip, in Unionville, PA and in the afternoon we took a driving tour around Amish country.
