May 1/2 - Shawan Downs

What a busy weekend. Sassy and I competed at Shawan Down Horse Trials in Cockeysville, MD. Despite forgetting my dressage test and getting my worst dressage score ever I still managed to finish 4th/17 because we went clear stadium and cross-country and lots of people had faults. Not a bad finish in the end. It was a long, HOT day. As soon as I got home we jetted over to Kay and Mike's house for the Kentucky Derby party and Justin picked the winner and won $60. From the party I went to foal watch and stay up all night till 6am the next morning. After getting home from foal watch it was a quick change and out the door to a dog show in Bear, DE with Shapash. She showed well, but no points. We tried a professional handler to see if she could bring out the sparkle in Shapash, since she gets so nervous showing. They worked well together and we'll probably work with her again. From the dog show I had to go to Hassler Dressage for a stallion collection and then Justin and I met for lunch. Finally at 2pm I went to bed for a nap!
