Instead of going on vacation this year, we decided instead to put the time and money into the house. So Justin and I both had the week off work this week. However, there is no such thing as an escape from work and we both ended up going into work for 1.5 days. Still we got quite a bit of work done on the entrance hall. We have plans to put up a tin ceiling, paint the walls two different colors - split by a new chair rail, paint all doors, window and trim, install a new lamp and wallpaper on one wall. Ha - like we'd get all this done in one week! Two of the walls had water damage, so Justin had to strip, re-plaster, sand and then primer. Justin also cleaned up two of the brass wall sconces, here you can see one before and one after. I was painting, took me all week just to do the white trim! I never even got to color. The window is original to the house, we found it in the basement. It matches the glass around the side door. We plan to restore it and hang it in front of the window. However, it is covered in lead paint.
