March 27/28 - Dog Show

As part of my deal with Hilltop Farm to get reduced board for Quest's foaling, I agreed to do foal watch one night a week. It started Friday 26th, 10pm till 6am. I sit in a little room and watch the broodmares on the security cameras for signs of labor. There is another TV so I can watch movies, but it is still really hard to stay awake after 4am. I have to set my phone to wake me up every half hour. After a nap on Saturday morning I spent all day mowing. Sunday we went to a dog show in New Jersey. There was a major in Pharaohs and this was the show where Strider took the major last year. However, he didn't win this time, but I felt like it was a personal victory because it was the first time I felt coordinated in the show ring and he showed the best he's ever done. I was really pleased with that, the show handling classes I occasionally take on Thursday evenings are finally paying off.
