April 3/4 - Happy Easter!

In a couple of weeks I will be taking our neighbor's Haflinger pony, Magic, to a dressage show at Fairhill. He's never been off the farm before, so on Saturday we trailered him over to a local farm for a test run in their arena. He handled it very well. On Sunday Sassy and I went cross country schooling for the first time this year in Chesapeake City. This weekend would have been our first competition, but the event was canceled, probably because entries were low with the recent snow. Like us no one else was ready. Schooling XC made us realize how much fitness we have lost over the winter, good thing the event was canceled. As we pulled out of the parking lot the power steering went out on the truck and it started smoking. I called Justin and he came out and tried to fix it but it wouldn't hold. So I had to call my neighbor to come pick Sassy up with her trailer. Then we called AAA to get the truck towed and my neighbor came back with her truck and towed the trailer home. I left for XC schooling at 2pm, it was 8pm before we got home after the truck disaster. Luckily it was a relatively easy thing to fix but the truck was in the shop for a few days. April 5th I was supposed to drop off Quest to Hilltop Farm, where she will foal out - only 4 weeks to go! Also I was to drop Sassy at Hassler Dressage where she will be boarded and exercised whilst we are in England. With the trailer out of commission I was lucky my neighbor offered to drive my trailer so I could drop the girls off.
