Oct 30/31 - Halloween

Julie had a competition at Plantation field in Unionville, PA. An early start and it was our first frosty night. Brrrr...it was a cold morning, but the early ride times meant we were done by lunch . It was a good day and a great way to end the season, we were 7th/14. In the afternoon I prepped the stalls and brought the horses in for the first time at night since spring. I think they will all appreciate it now the weather is getting colder. Justin went skeet shooting again and was busy working all day on his Halloween costume. We had a neighborhood Halloween party at Pat and Jose Quinlan's, we went as The Mad Hatter and the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland. I got my costume on Ebay and Justin made his from the thrift store and some home sewing. The he got the wig, hat and eyebrows on Ebay too. We definitely had the best costumes at the party and everyone was impressed at our effort. It took over an hour just to do the make-up. Sunday evening Firenze got a little too excited about his evening feed and wolfed it down too fast and gave himself a choke. I had to call out the emergency vet, but thankfully he cleared it before the vet called me back.
