We've been collecting fallen branches, trees and all kinds of brush on our burn pile for over 2yrs. Finally we applied for a burn permit and set it alight on Saturday. We then spent all weekend gathering up as many branches as we could, and we broke down the trees that had fallen with the last storm, including a large poplar that fell down in the back pasture. The fire burned through the weekend and we had smores over the last remnants of the fire on Sunday evening - yum, yum! The kitty was out hunting most of the day, we watched him eat mice head first!
